3rd Sunday of Advent (Year A)

Psalm text (Ps 146:6c-7,8-9a,9b-10)

Lord, come and save us.
or
Alleluia! (2 or 3 times)

It is the Lord who keeps faith forever,
who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free.

The Lord opens the eyes of the blind
and lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous
and watches over the strangers.

The Lord upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
The Lord will reign forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Gospel Verse (Lk 4:18)

The Spirit of the Lord now upon me has sent me to bring good news to the poor.

Psalm text (Ps 146:6-7, 8-9a, 9b-10)

Lord, come and save us.

The Lord God keeps faith forever,
secures justice for the oppressed,
gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the captives free.

The Lord gives sight to the blind;
the Lord raises up those who were bowed down.
The Lord loves the just;
the Lord protects strangers.

The fatherless and the widow He sustains,
but the way of the wicked He thwarts.
The Lord shall reigh forever;
your God, O Zion, through all generations.
