The Epiphany of the Lord

Psalm text (Ps 72:1-2,7-8,10-11,12-13)

Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.

Give the king your justice, O God,
and your righteousness to a king’s son.
May he judge your people with righteousness,
and your poor with justice.

In his days may righteousness flourish
and peace abound, until the moon is no more.
May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth.

May the kings of Tarshish and of the isles render him tribute,
may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts.
May all kings fall down before him,
all nations give him service.

For he delivers the needy when they call,
the poor and those who have no helper.
He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.

Gospel Verse (Mt 2:2)

We have seen his star in the east; and have come to adore the Lord.

Psalm text (Ps 72:1-2, 7-8, 10-11, 12-13)

Lord, every nation on earth will adore You.

O God, with Your judgement endow the king,
and with Your justice the king's son.
He shall govern Your people with justice,
and Your afflicted ones with judgement.

Justice shall flower in his days,
and profound peace til the moon be no more.
May he rule from sea to sea,
and from the river to the ends of the earth.

The Kings of Tarshish and the Isles offer gifts.
The kings of Arabia and Seba shall bring tribute.
All kings shall pay him homage.
All nations shall serve him.

For he shall rescue the poor when he cries out,
and the afflicted when he has no one to help him.
He shall have pity for the lowly and the poor.
The lives of the poor he shall save.
