4th Sunday of Advent (Year B)

Psalm text (Ps 89:1-2,3-4,26+28)

For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever;
with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations.
I declare that your steadfast love is established forever;
your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.

You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one,
I have sworn to my servant David:
I will establish your descendants forever,
and build your throne for all generations.”

He shall cry to me, “You are my Father,
my God, and the Rock of my salvation!”
Forever I will keep my steadfast love for him,
and my covenant with him will stand firm.

Gospel Verse (Lk 1:38)

I am the servant of the Lord: let it be done to me according to your word.

Psalm text (Ps 89:2-3, 4-5, 27+29)

For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

The promises of the Lord I will sing forever;
through all generations my mouth shall proclaim Your faithfulness.
For You have said, "My kindness is established forever";
in heaven You have confirmed Your faithfulness.

I have made a covenant with My chosen one,
I have sworn to David My servant:
forever will I confirm your posterity
and establish your throne for all generations.

He shall say of Me, "You are my Father,
My God, the Rock, My savior."
Forever I will maintain my kindness toward him,
and My covenant with him stands firm.
